Although we are getting closer to legalizing CBD federally, there are still a few more steps that need to be taken. Word is that a compromise deal between House and Senate leadership on the 2018 Farm Bill could be reached as early as today. There are still things we need to do to make sure the Farm Bill goes into law.

As of right now, the House and senate each passed their own versions of the 2018 Farm Bill. The Senate version includes Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s Hemp Farming Act, which would permanently legalize hemp and popular hemp-derived products like cannabidiol (CBD). This is what we want! CBD has a ton of benefits and it is all natural!  CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory, provides anxiety relief, and anti-seizures, just to name a few.

The top leadership of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees have been meeting regularly to iron out their differences and push the bill forward. Once the deal is reached, it must be brought to the full House/Senate Conference Committee for a vote. We are feeling good about the passage of the bill during this meeting. Once the conference committee approves, the consensus Farm Bill will go to the floors of the House and Senate for their votes. If the House and Senate pass the bill, it will then go to President Trump for his signature. Last, we have heard he is supporting the passage of this bill.

There are so many steps to pass a bill into law and us, as citizens can help as well. You can click on this link https://hempsupporter.com/resources/ and send a message to your Members of Congress to support a Farm Bill that includes the Hemp Farming Act. Every vote counts so it is important for us to urge our representatives to vote yes on the Farm Bill.
